Watches for Small Wrists
Having a smaller wrist (under 160mm / 6.3") does not limit your options. Many iconic watches were designed with smaller proportions in mind. Our guide helps you find timepieces that fit comfortably and look perfectly balanced.
Not sure if a watch will fit?
Use our interactive Watch Fit Chart to visualize how any watch size looks on your wrist.
Case Diameter
For wrists under 160mm, look for watches 36-40mm. These sizes offer a balanced, proportional look.
Lug-to-Lug
This matters more than diameter. Keep it under 47mm to avoid lugs overhanging your wrist.
Thickness
Thinner watches (under 12mm) sit flatter and look more refined on smaller wrists.

Recommended Sizes by Wrist Circumference
| Wrist Size | Recommended Case | Max Lug-to-Lug |
|---|---|---|
| 140mm (5.5") | 34-36mm | 42-44mm |
| 150mm (5.9") | 36-38mm | 44-46mm |
| 160mm (6.3") | 38-40mm | 46-48mm |
These are guidelines, not rules. Personal preference and watch style matter too.

Consider Vintage-Inspired Designs
Classic watch designs from the 1950s-70s were typically 34-38mm. Brands like Seiko, Omega, and Tudor offer modern versions of these timeless sizes.
Dress Watches Are Your Friend
Dress watches are traditionally smaller and thinner, making them ideal for smaller wrists. Look at the Tissot PRX 35mm, Junghans Max Bill, or Orient Bambino.
Try Before You Buy
Specs only tell part of the story. A 40mm watch with short lugs can wear smaller than a 38mm with long lugs. Visit an authorized dealer if possible.
